Barevene builds everything around Venetian elegance: velvet and satin, colourways named after painters, composers and Italian towns. It is a family workshop in Spain, and its signature move is the mercedita — the classic Mary Jane — rebuilt on a barefoot last, so it can go to a wedding or a celebration as a respectful alternative to the usual dress shoe. Vegan and recycled materials throughout, and an openly slow-fashion stance: fewer pairs, made to last.
