02 What Data We Collect
We collect two categories of data:
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is the only personal data you actively submit to us.
When you visit the site, our servers and third-party tools may automatically collect:
- IP address (anonymised before storage)

- Pages visited and time spent
- Referring URL
- Cookie identifiers (see Section 5)
We do not collect names, postal addresses, phone numbers, or payment details.

Placed when you click an affiliate link. These cookies allow the affiliate network to attribute a sale to our site if you make a purchase. They do not reveal your identity to us. Cookie duration varies by program (typically 30 days).

06 Affiliate Disclosure
barefoot.style participates in affiliate marketing programs, including but not limited to Awin and other affiliate networks. This means we may earn a commission when you click on a link and make a purchase — at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate links are identified where required. Our editorial content is independent: we only feature brands and products we believe are relevant to the barefoot shoe community. Commissions do not influence our coverage.

We do not share your data with any other third parties unless required by law.
08 Data Retention
- Newsletter subscribers: Your email is retained until you unsubscribe, after which it is deleted within 30 days.
- Analytics data: Retained per Google Analytics default settings (up to 26 months). We anonymise IPs.
- Server logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
- Affiliate tracking: Data retained per the affiliate network’s own policies.
09 Your Rights Under GDPR
As a visitor to our site, you have all rights granted to you under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing.

10 International Data Transfers
Some third-party services (such as Google Analytics) may process data outside the EU under Standard Contractual Clauses.
11 Children’s Privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
