The barefoot shoe world has grown fast. What started as a small niche with just a handful of brands has exploded into dozens of makers, each with their own aesthetic, lasts, and price points.

At some point it just got hard to keep up — new models dropping constantly, brands launching in different countries, sizing that varies wildly. You'd find a brand on Reddit, lose the link, see a model on Instagram, fail to remember the name. The information was scattered across forum threads, blog archives, and YouTube reviews from 2019.

I built this site for myself, to keep track of what is out there. Then friends started asking me for recommendations. Then friends of friends. So here we are.

What you are looking at is the result. A catalog that started as a browser bookmarks folder, became a spreadsheet so nothing would get lost, became a database, and finally — because I am stubborn about good typography and bad about saying no to side projects — became this.

A catalog, not a shop.

Barefoot Style aggregates models from 80+ brands and lets you slice them by the things that actually matter when you're shopping: style, gender, colour, size, price, vegan.

02 / who runs it

One person. Hi.

Me. I take the photos, write the database, code the site with Claude, and answer every email personally. If that sounds slow — it sometimes is. If it sounds careful — it is that too.
